Daniel Holfeld served as the editor and conceptual lead of the book Contemporary Morocco: Building a New Vernacular Architecture, published by Gandon Editions in December 2024.
With a background in architectural photography and over a decade of travel to the region, Holfeld brought a visual and curatorial perspective to the project, overseeing the compilation of over 550 photographs and illustrations that document Morocco's architectural evolution in the 21st century .
The book showcases 30 significant architectural projects across Morocco's twelve regions, highlighting the blend of traditional Moroccan craftsmanship with contemporary design. It features contributions from architect Dominic Stevens and Moroccan scholar Lahbib El Moumni, providing context and analysis of the country's architectural developments.
Holfeld's role was pivotal in capturing and presenting the essence of Morocco's modern architectural landscape, emphasizing the interplay between heritage and innovation. His editorial oversight ensured a cohesive narrative that reflects the country's dynamic architectural identity .
